Questions
Repairs, answered plainly.
Do you work in my yard or marina?
Yes — our technicians work in every yard and marina in Malta and Gozo, including Msida, Ta’ Xbiex, Grand Harbour, Kalkara, Portomaso, Marina di Valletta and Mġarr, and the yards at Manoel Island, Palumbo, MMH and Bezzina. If your boat needs lifting, we book the slot for you.
How do you charge?
Labour by the hour at the rate for the trade involved, stated in the quote, and every part itemised with the supplier invoice available. Where parts come to €1,000 or more we ask for half of that up front before ordering; on bigger jobs we invoice weekly for work done. If a job turns out bigger once it is opened up, we stop and re-quote rather than running on.
Who actually does the work?
A network of self-employed technicians we have worked with for years, each in their own trade. Stephen coordinates the job, checks the work and reports to you, so you deal with one person.
Are you insured, and is the work guaranteed?
We carry public liability insurance for the work we do. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we pass on. If anything we did is not right when we hand the boat back, we put it right at no cost to you. We do not set a fixed guarantee period on labour. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Can you handle a whole refit while I am abroad?
Yes. You get a schedule, photos as the work progresses, and a call when a decision is needed. You should not need to fly out.
