Marine engine servicing and repairs in Malta
Inboard diesels, outboards and generators serviced and repaired at your berth or in the yard, by a marine engineer we have worked with for years. You approve a written quote first and get photographs of every step.

What we would check first
Usually the raw-water side. We check the strainer, impeller, heat exchanger and thermostat, in that order, and fix the one that is wrong.

What we do
What we take care of.
- Annual and interval servicesOil and filters, fuel filters, impeller, belts, coolant, anodes and gear oil, then run to temperature and photographed.
- Cooling and overheatingRaw-water pumps, heat exchangers, thermostats and hoses. We trace the circuit from seacock to exhaust and fix the cause, not the symptom.
- Fuel systemsTank inspection, lift pumps, injectors, diesel bug treatment and fuel polishing arranged.
- Mounts, alignment and stern gearEngine mounts, shaft alignment with feeler gauges, couplings, cutless bearings, stuffing boxes and seals.
- OutboardsServices, impellers, carburettor and fuel faults, gearbox oil, tilt and trim. Small boats get the same photographs as big ones.
- GeneratorsServicing, starting faults, exhaust and cooling on the generator you forgot about until the fridge went off.
- OverhaulsTop-end and full rebuilds, quoted in stages, or an honest recommendation to repower when a rebuild would not pay.
- Winterising and recommissioningWhat a Maltese winter actually needs: fuel treated, batteries kept up, engine run monthly. None of the antifreeze routine boats need further north.
How it works
Four steps. Nothing starts without your yes.
01
Tell us
Boat, length, marina, a photo. WhatsApp is fine.
Reply within one working day
02
We look on board
Diagnosis before quoting. Nobody guesses from a description.
Usually on board within three working days
03
Written quote
What we found, what we recommend, what it costs, how long.
Nothing starts until you say yes

When
The usual jobs, and the months they happen.
Annual service
What is involved. Oil, filters, impeller, belts, coolant and anodes replaced, engine run to temperature, everything replaced photographed and listed.
When. Once a year, before the season.
Overheating
What is involved. Strainer, impeller, heat exchanger, thermostat and exhaust elbow checked in order until the cause is found, then repaired.
When. As soon as the gauge climbs. Running hot cooks gaskets and exhaust hoses.
Won't start
What is involved. Batteries and connections first, then fuel supply, then compression. Most winter non-starters are fuel or electrical, not the engine.
When. Before you book a lift or buy parts.
Mounts and alignment
What is involved. Mounts inspected and replaced, alignment set with feeler gauges, coupling and cutless bearing checked.
When. When vibration appears, or every few years on a boat that is used.
Outboard service
What is involved. Impeller, gear oil, plugs, fuel filter, carburettor cleaned if needed, then a test run.
When. Yearly, and always before storage.

Questions
Questions owners ask first.
Do you come to the marina, or does the boat have to go to a yard?
Most engine work happens at the berth: services, cooling faults, fuel and electrical faults, mounts and alignment. Stern-gear work that needs the boat out of the water is done in the yard, and we book the slot for you.
How quickly can you come out?
We reply within one working day and usually see the boat within three working days. Care plan customers have a set response time: 4 hours on Gold, 48 hours on Silver, 3 working days on Bronze.
Which engines do you work on?
The common marine diesels and petrol inboards found on boats between 6 and 20 m, plus all the usual outboard makes. If yours is unusual, tell us the make and model and we will tell you whether it is one we should take on.
Can the work be done while I am abroad?
Yes. You get photographs of every part replaced and the engine running afterwards, the same day, and a call if a decision is needed.
Is the work guaranteed?
Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we pass on. If anything we did is not right when we hand the boat back, we put it right at no cost to you. We do not set a separate guarantee period on labour, because boats and salt water are hard on everything. Your statutory rights are not affected.
What if the engine needs a full overhaul?
We open it up, photograph what we find and quote the rebuild in stages, so you can stop after the diagnosis if the numbers do not make sense. If a repower is the better answer, we say so.
Care plans
Never chase this again.
On a care plan we tell you when the service is due and quote it, and every care visit checks the engine's fluids, belts and raw-water strainer.
